01 · Services

Six service lines under one technical engineering practice.

Technical engineering services first, with the integration work that follows it. Most projects draw on several of these at once, from control narrative through startup and closeout documentation.

01

PLC programming and control logic

New logic and legacy rework, written to a control narrative your team can read a year from now.

02

HMI and SCADA development

Screens built for the operator on shift: clear states, rational alarms, faster troubleshooting.

03

Control panel design and field integration

Panel specification and build coordination, then wired, checked, and turned over in the field.

04

Instrumentation, networking, and telemetry

Sensor selection and calibration, industrial networks, and getting remote assets to report reliably.

05

Commissioning, troubleshooting, and support

Loop checks, safe startup, and scheduled follow-up support after turnover.

06

Technical engineering services

Studies, specifications, and design support. Non-stamped; stamped deliverables are coordinated through licensed partner firms.

02 · Where we work

Industry agnostic, applied where the work is.

Technical engineering services, systems integration, and data analytics, applied to whatever the process happens to be. The equipment changes; the engineering discipline does not.

Manufacturing

Production lines, packaging, and process equipment that has to make rate every shift.

Controls · Integration · Line data

Oil and gas

Upstream and midstream facilities: wellsite equipment, pumping, separation, and measurement.

Controls · Telemetry · Measurement

Energy and utilities

Generation and distribution assets where availability and load are the metric that counts.

SCADA · Integration · Reporting

Water and wastewater

Lift stations, treatment trains, and plants run by small crews spread across many sites.

PLC and HMI · Remote monitoring

Remote site monitoring

Assets with nobody standing next to them: tanks, skids, pumps, compressors, and outstations.

Telemetry · Alarming · Dashboards

Commercial facilities

Campuses and buildings where metering, HVAC, and building system data sit in separate silos.

Data integration · Analytics

Not on the list? The discipline travels.

03 · About

Austin Harris, founder

Austin founded Harris Automation after more than fifteen years in process controls and instrumentation, writing logic, specifying panels, calibrating instruments, and standing in front of equipment through startup. He holds an engineering degree and has led controls teams in the field. The firm exists because the work in between is where projects go wrong: the logic nobody documented, the panel that was never as-built, the startup that runs long. That work is field-practical, and it is what we do.

04 · Why Harris Automation

Engineering discipline without the big-firm overhead.

01

Documentation and testing standards that survive the handover

Control narratives, as-built drawings, and checked loops on every job. The discipline of a large engineering firm, priced for the job actually in front of you.

02

One accountable point of contact, concept through closeout

Including coordinating stamped deliverables through licensed partner firms when a project calls for them.

03

Engineering and integration under one roof

Specification and design support, plus the integration work that follows it. Most shops do one or the other, and the handoff between them is where scope gets lost.

04

Direct access to the engineers doing the work

No account manager layer between your maintenance lead and the engineer writing the logic.
